A 150 years old church in England is up for sale, with vendor demanding around 181 Bitcoin.
The church, now converted into a 7 bedroom character property to be used as residence, was former St Laurence’s Church located at Church Lane, Middleton One Row, County Durham.
The converted church has an entrance porch and hall. It also has a game room, living area, kitchen and dining room.
It has four first Floor Bedrooms, with one en-suite, a family and a master bathroom with a dressing room among others.
The vendor placed a price tag of £1,200,000 on the property, and willing to accept Bitcoin as a payment option.
The vendor is willing to accept Bitcoin equivalent of the said value, which is around 185 BTC at the time of writing, but the BTC to be accepted once a buyer is ready would be calculated based on the market valuation of Bitcoin at the time of sale.
The St Laurence’s Church was built around 1871 and was designed by a Darlington based architect JP Pritchett, the vendor indicated in shared bronchure.
The wonderfully designed and attractive church is made of squared rock-faced sandstone, as used in the 18th century.
Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are being used as a means of payment in the estate industry. Several houses have been sold in Bitcoin in recent times, an indication that cryptocurrency has come to stay.
